Boyanika - NIFT Fashion Show 2015 ,
aatish’s Institute of Media (AIM), Kolkata has been elected asFashion Manager for an event " Boyanika -NIFT Fashion Show 2015" at Janata Maidan,Bhubaneswar during 10th Toshali Craft Mela by Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department inassociation with Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), DevelopmentCommissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India.
Contextually, the crafts mela has already carved a unique nicheof its own in the country’s Annual Carnival Calendar. Department, Government of Odisha,artisans, weavers, painters and sculptors from all over the country have participatedin this Crafts Mela and exhibited their traditional and contemporary handicraftand handloom products.
The vision of the mela is;
To offer an open forum toartists, artisans and connoisseurs for interaction.
To strengthen the positionof the weavers and artisans who are economically deprived by creating marketfor their products.
To preserve and nurturethe traditional art forms, handicrafts and handlooms of India and
To create awareness andeducate the people on the skills and creative intricacies involved in makingthe products.
The theme pavilion showcased “IKAT” weaving of the state withtagline “Odisha Hand Wovens: HeritageEthnic Wear”. 4 marketing organizations like Utkalika, Boyanika, Amlan andSambalpuri Bastralaya displayed their innovative products. Boyanika isthe oldest brand name in Odhisa hand-wovens.
AIM has successfully conducted the exquisite fashion show for Boyanika & NIFT ( National Institute of Fashion Technology), Bhubaneswar on 19thDecember 2015 with elegance and got the appreciation from the visitors onoverall co ordination as well as fashion choreography. It was well organizedand created a popularity among the young audiences.
